Create a posting on your blog titled "Life Under Jim Crow." You will post your responses to the questions below in that post. Be sure to number each question. Follow all directions as listed by the
- Visit Jim Crow Profiles. There is a list of 20 people and their profiles. Choose one person to read about. Then post the following information into your blog entry: the person's name, date of birth, place of origin, the major cause this person fought for, and his/her major accomplishments. Also include your personal reaction to his/her story.
- Visit Jim Crow Narratives. This site has 15 people telling their own stories of living under Jim Crow laws. Choose ONE interview and listen to the recording. After you listen to the interview, answer the following questions in your blog entry: Who was the person? What was his/her life like under Jim Crow laws? How did you feel while listening to this person’s story? What effect did hearing the person’s voice have on you?
- Many people wonder why Jim Crow was so accepted. As a matter of fact, there was a great deal of racial turmoil in this period. Choose one of the following incidents to read about (warning--some of these sites have pictures of violent situations):

After you read the article, answer the following questions in your blog entry: When did this event occur? What was the incident that started the riot? What happened to those responsible for starting the riot (if anything)? - Now that you have learned about life under the Jim Crow Laws, explain your thoughts about what it would be like to live during this time.
